L'arc~en~Ciel performs at world famous Madison Square Garden

On March 25th, rock group L’Arc~en~Ciel performed at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City. MSG is a world renowned venue and L’Arc became the first Japanese act to perform a solo concert there. Tons of fans packed the venue.

MSG is located in central Manhattan and it is a venue Western artists take much pride in performing in, MSG has the nickname of The World’s Most Famous Arena. L’Arc was first scheduled to hold their concert at another venue, but when around 5,000 tickets were sold on the spot, they changed their venue to MSG. Before their performance, leader Tetsuya commented, “It’s a privilege to stand on such a historic stage. We’re looking forward to it.”

Japanese culture is gradually becoming more popular in the United States, with anime being at the forefront. Vocalist Hyde commented on how some of their American fans are even memorizing and learning Japanese through L’Arc’s lyrics.

Dotty Roldan (47) came to the concert with her daughter Jasmine (18), who became a fan through anime. Dotty happily commented while herself and her daughter were buying T-shirts, “I love L’Arc.” In addition, Cat Davis (27) showed her love for the group as she came to the venue all the way from Mississippi; around 2,000 km (1,242 miles) away from MSG. Last November, Cat also got a tattoo of the band’s name on her back. “I like them right after The Beatles. Even though I can’t understand the lyrics, I can

feel the emotion in their songs.”

VAMPS announce 2012 tour

 

Rock band VAMPS has just announced their comeback with a 49 stage tour in 10 different cities. “VAMPS LIVE 2012” will start in June all the way through October.

This will be their first tour since 2010. The tour will hit off at Zepp Sendai then four more cities in June. Then in the month of July they will only play at Zepp Tokyo with the title “VAMPS TOKYO @ ZEPP TOKYO“. Afterwards they will continue touring Japan to October 7th.

Ticket sales will start on May 26th and will be available through Play Guide. They can also be purchased through VAMPS and HYDE’s official mobile website.

BORN - NEW SINGLE "BLASTED ANIMALS" [04.07.2012]

 

Visual kei band BORN will release a new single on July 4th. 

Titled BLASTED ANIMALS, it will be released in two versions, both of which will include the title track and the B-side AGITATOR. The regular edition will be CD-only and will come with the bonus track Dizzy You, while the limited edition will come with a bonus DVD featuring the PV for BLASTED ANIMALS and documentary footage of the band’s SHINJUKU LOFT 2days live.

BORN will also set off on their first one-man tour BLACK MASSIVE ANIMALS. It starts on July 16th, and finishes on July 31st. The final will be held on August 12th at Shibuya O-EAST.

PIKO’s new single produced by L’arc-en-Ciel’s TETSUYA

 

Male singer PIKO has announced a new single is underway. Titled “Emiiro Refrain”  the single will be released April 25th.

The single is also produced by L’arc~en~Ciel bassist TETSUYA. This is TETSUYA’s first time to produce a song for another artist. A treat for PIKO, considering that he is a huge fan L’arc~en~Ciel and also belongs to the same company, Ki/oon Records.

TETSUYA expressed his hopes that everyone will enjoy the new song by PIKO. He also commented that PIKO showcased is wide vocal range to produce a beautiful song, and that he’s happy with the final product.

PIKO has said that he never thought he’d be able to work with TETSUYA, and never in his dreams did he imagine he would be singing the song he wrote. The song is obviously very important to PIKO, who is reported to have given this song his very best effort.

“Emiiro Refrain” will come in three versions, a limited edition, regular edition, and a limited time offer edition.

GALNERYUS to provide new theme song for “HUNTER x HUNTER”

 

It was announced today that rock band GALNERYUS will provide a new ending theme song for anime “HUNTER x HUNTER” called “Hunting For Your Dream”.

It’s also been revealed that vocalist Ono Masatoshi of GALNERYUS will sing a new opening theme song for the program called “departure! -second version-“.

Additionally, the band will be releasing a new live DVD & CD from their “RAISE YOUR FLAG AGAIN! TOUR 2011“, titled “PHOENIX LIVING IN THE RISING SUN“, on March 28th. The DVD was filmed at SHIBUYA-AX last year on December 4th.

On another note, the group is currently preparing for a mini tour “THE CHAIN OF STRENGTH“, which is scheduled to start in May.

Visual kei band ViViD will release a new single on May 16th.

The single is titled REAL and is being used as the opening theme to the TV anime series "MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM AGE". This will be the group's fifth single and will be available in three different editions. The limited Types A and B will each come with a different DVD featuring a music video and additional material.

The "special bonus track" edition will be CD-only and will come with three bonus tracks. First press editions of this version will feature a picture disc and will come with a trading card randomly selected from six kinds.

SID - New Single "S"

 

Visual band SID will release a new single on May 9th.

Titled S, it will be released in three versions. Besides the standard regular and limited editions, there will also be a "Limited Pressing" available and it will be CD-only. The Limited Edition will come with a DVD containg live footage from band's SHOOTING LIVE concert which took place on March 16th. 

The track list is currently unknown, but it is said that the title track will be used in a horror movie, "Sadako 3D." 

S is SID's second single scheduled for May. The single titled Nokoriga will be released a week before, as was previously reported here.

PV Collection from Alice Nine !!!

 

Visual kei band Alice Nine have announced the release of a PV collection for June 6th.

So far, little is known about this release, other than its title, alice in pictures III. The release follows on from the band's previous PV collections, alice in pictures I and alice in pictures II, which both came out in July 2008.

This new collection is expected to feature all of the band's PVs released released after the first two DVDs, from RAINBOWS to their most recent single, Niji no yuki. A full tracklist has yet to be officially confirmed.
